Business Success Story
Dennis Pirot
Penticton
Valley First Credit Union
Dennis Pirot was getting nowhere fast. He wanted a business loan, and it was like pulling teeth. Finally, he walked into Valley First Credit Union in Penticton. That was seven years ago. Today, the land developer builds seniors' and gated communities, and is a loyal credit union customer.
"We needed a substantial loan and the credit union could only lend one percent of its asset base," recalls Pirot, who's based in Vernon. "Our level of loan was beyond their maximum and so they went outside and raised the rest for us."
Apart from business loans, Pirot likes dealing with the people who work in the credit union. "Unlike the banks, everyone at the credit union is involved in meeting their members' needs."
